WHAT'S GOING ON THIS SEASON! .

MONTHLY SOCIAL PROGRAMS
SATURDAY 12/04 (6-9 pm)
ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY!

Join us December 4th from 6-9 pm for our Annual Holiday Party.

Admission per person will be a wrapped gift priced under $20 to place under the tree. You'll be assigned a number when you arrive that will determine the order in which you'll go to the tree to select a gift at random, or the option to take a gift from someone who has already been to the tree. I'm sure that everyone has played this game before during the holiday season! It should be a lot of fun and a special time to socialize with other students that you've come to know through the sailing season. RSVP is required to attend this event as we are making final plans now.

If you'd like to volunteer to help bring a dish, Windsong will be bringing the ham and soft drinks. We'll need the usual holiday "Fixings" (bread, potato salad, beans, corn, cookies, brownies or whatever is your specialty) for a an informal gathering. Let us know what you'll volunteer to bring so that we'll ensure enough food is available for all the hungry souls who will be there. Although we don't have a stove at the center, we do have an oven, microwave and frig.

Let's make this a great party and opportunity to catch up with fellow students and see what everyone has been up to. Go take a look at shots from last year's party! We get to hear all the stories but few others who don't attend the monthly socials get to share the fun! Rumor has it that a running slide show will feature candid shots of students taken through this season. Also there may be some special announcements made public about changes at Windsong for the new season. Come hear the news before the rest of the worlds hears it at the January Georgia Congress Center Boat Show.

Capt. Dave's Tips

For those of you who were unable to join us at either of the two "In Town Socials" in October at Dave & Busters at Gwinnett, all that I have to say is "You Missed It Big Time!". What a great evening of laughter and heckling between the comedians and the Windsong tables. We were THE PARTY both nights and a great time was had by all who attended. For $5 it was the best value EVER and we certainly enjoyed ourselves. The food was fantastic and the service was great! Dan Fontaine, the show's host and I worked hard together to enrich my repertoire of humor and jokes that I use on the boat and in the classroom, so look forward to new material! Perhaps in the future you may find Capt. Dave on the comedy circuit, NOT.

Here's a "Head's Up" on which way the wind's blowing next year. Starting January 14th Comedy at Dave & Buster's will be a monthly event. Since we don't have Monthly Social events at the Aqualand Sailing Center during the winter months, Windsong will come in mass to the Gwinnett Dave & Busters each month and make the comedians earn their keep. It will be our "In Town" gathering pond for fun and sharing through the winter months. I'm certain there will be some surprises and interesting interaction between us and the staff each month, so be sure to bring a camera just in case! Remember that unless you've made reservations with us in advance, seating will be first come first seated and the rest won't be able to get in or join us at our dedicated table directly in front of the stage!

Plans are being made already for New Year's Eve at Dave & Busters too! A Dinner Mystery play will start at 8 pm in the private dining room as a 4 course meal is devoured. If you've never been to a Dinner Mystery performance this is your chance! At 10 the tables are slid back to made room for the dance floor. The Music, dancing and party will run til whenever with a brief break in the action for the final count down at midnight. Prices are $130 per couple and covers everything including a $10 Play Card for games in the arcade. Our goal is to have 20 couples so that we can dominate the night and have our way with the staff!

Been To A Good Boat Show Lately?
Mark your calendars for the Jan 12th - 16th Atlanta Boat Show at the Georgia World Congress Center. We can't say too much in advance, least we tip our hand to others who "try" to compete with Windsong, but Saturday the 15th you're going to want to be at the show for a series of programs your not going to believe! We're going to have some Las Vegas action going on at the booth and some of the finest speaker presentations the Atlanta show has EVER seen. More will be unveiled at the December Holiday Party on 12/4. There will be something for everybody at the "Windsong Series".

	Got Your Christmas Card List Updated? For the first time in a long time we have approval to extend a very special gift to everyone this season. Your Holiday Season's Greeting card will contain the details but you don't want to be left out. If your address or phone numbers have changed recently be sure to send us an update to ensure that we have everyone's information correct in our database.

Good Job! Congratulations are in order for Ovidiu Ratiu who recently completed his last Man-Over-Board drill to finish up his Basic Keelboat A.S.A. Certification! When you're ready to document your knowledge and abilities, schedule your written exam and begin checking off your skill sets today!

	U.S. Sailing Compliments Windsong!
Plans are underway to reopen our training and certification facility on Lake Allatoona for 2005. Windsong was the first and remains the only U.S. Sailing commercial training and certification school in Georgia. This unique distinction makes Windsong a very rare school offering BOTH U.S. Sailing and American Sailing Association programs side-by-side. Both ParticipationGuidelines.htm have challenging and strict compliance regulations and Windsong is very unique in that we have been approved by both of the only governing bodies in North America! Although the operation will resume our regular sailing instructional outings as well as host ground school programs, it's focus will primarily be that of a U.S. Sailing facility. Students will be able to train and learn to sail at Windsong on either of Atlanta's major sailing lakes and since the instructional content will be identical between the the two facilities on Lanier and the one on Allatoona, students can choose between instructors, boat options, instructional facilities and lake venues. Final evaluation for certification in your desired affiliation will require A.S.A. certification on Lanier or U.S. Sailing certification on Allatoona. Other than that, there will be no differences between the operations. More details will be available at the January Atlanta Boat Show.

OH NO! Fee Increases!
Effective January 1st there will be price increases for all programs. Yep, the boat insurance is going WAY UP and so are the dockages so we must stay in step with costs. Here's my offer: Anyone who plans to take ANY ground school classes in 2005 can register and pay for them this year at this year's costs by registering for any of the above class dates. If you can't attend the class above for which you've registered FOR ANY REASON, you can repeat that class free of charge at any time in the future. Yep, you heard that right! Of course it's our 100% unconditional guarantee that you may repeat any previously taken ground school anytime for as many times as you please. This however is an unusual application of that rule. Pay now and attend whenever it suits ya! This will save you some "Sailing Bucks" (:>).

HATE THAT SPAM?

Ever noticed that all official Windsong emails have the word "WINDSONG:" in the subject? That's so that you can use a filter or rule to intercept and redirect Windsong emails into a dedicated folder based upon this trait. That way we won't ever wind up in your SPAM folders and accidentally deleted. This is actually a two-way street. Any replies from you will automatically contain the same identifier in the subject and we can prevent it's accidental deletion as well. So any emails from you to us should contain the words "WINDSONG" in the subject or you risk censure by our anti spam software. Daily we receive just over 400 SPAM emails and find the use of filtering software imperative. Don't risk loosing our emails, filter TODAY!

THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING....AND I HAVE NO IDEAS!
Let Windsong solve your problems. Tell everyone to buy you sailing gift certificates for Christmas. Annually Windsong offers gift certificates in any denomination or for any combination of classes our outings.
