Hey, How's Your Life?
A lot of folks say that I live an enriched life! Well I'm not sure that I agree with that in all aspects, but I do live a FULL one filled with a large variety of life experiences and know where to go for fun. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm going to share some of my best kept secrets with you. Whether you're married or not, you should still be dating. If you're married, that means spending quality time with your spouse. Here are a sample of some simple things my wife and I enjoy.
BEEHIVE is back again! We don't normally advertise for other businesses, but in our effort to spread the news to our customers about values in entertainment we feel compelled to tell everyone about this well kept secret! I don't consider myself a fan of musicals, but this one was an unexpected surprise and absolute joy from beginning to end that made me want to stand up and dance in the aisles, so if you grew up in the 60's and enjoy the music of that era, this is a show not to be missed! I can't recommend this production strong enough. I saw the original performance earlier this year at the Georgia State University Rialto Center for the Performing Arts theater and it was such a success it is returning for a second series of performances. The fact that the lead performer is the wife of a personal friend made the performance even more amazing. There are some extremely talented folks in the boating community and we don't even know it! |
Love songs fill the air again this summer when the
"dance in the aisles" musical, Beehive
returns to the Rialto Center for the Performing Arts. It's big hair,
lots of sequins and plenty of great music from some of Atlanta's best
female vocalists, portraying the "girl groups" and hot single acts of
the 60's.

Stone Mountain Park We love to hike and there are two major trails that wind around through the cool trees and past all the lakes. The most popular trail is the one up the mountain. We thought we were something special hiking up the mountain weekly til we started noticing the same folks passing us multiple times during one of our hikes. Folks run up and down this mountain MORE THAN ONCE. Wow, what a concept. It's great exercise and a fun way to catch up with your spouse and compare notes about the business day as the sun sets in the back ground. We pack a back pack and have our supper at the top. Hey, don't forget your binoculars. We try to find our house and see how many other land marks we can identify. One trip we watched as some fighters from Dobbins did a fly past Stone Mountain on their way to a Brave's Game fly by. The only view more breath taking than supper on the mountain top, is one out at sea aboard a sailboat!

Dave And Buster's Now these folks know how to have fun. Although I'm not much into all the games and machines they offer, week evening fine dining followed by a quiet game of pool in a smokeless environment can't be beat for an intimate evening out. Dave and Buster's offers the only smoke free pool table environment in town that I know of. During a discussion with Simone Davis, Manager at the Duluth restaurant, I encouraged her to offer some comedy acts such as those at the Punch Line or Laughing Matters and she promised to see what she could muster up. So if they fulfill their end of the bargain, Windsong is going to have a group outing there for sure. Meanwhile you can't beat this place for an intimate date on a week night after work. |

The June monthly social was a double hitter with Capt. C. J. Coulson from International Sailing School outlining the exciting things going on in his neck of the woods followed by the wonderful tour of the Abacos and Exumas by Bill Rountree and his son Robert. Their year and a half sabbatical from corporate America strengthened their bond as their lives depended upon each other's competency and stamina.

HOW SAFE IS YOUR
BOAT? Once again, Windsong is busy conducting U.S. Coast Guard approved and U.S. Sail and Power Squadron sponsored Vessel Safety Examinations (VSE) at Aqualand Marina and Holiday Marinas. Safety inspections are free and cover all the Federal and State requirements for your size vessel (Sail or Power) in addition to general overall suggestions appropriate for safe and informed boating. We do not issue citations nor report you to authorities for noncompliance. Our intent is to inspect and educate. So far this season, we've inspected brand new boats that have failed, and have surprised seasoned boaters who learned that they were merely one DNR (law enforcing agency on Lanier) stop away from a hefty fine for violations. One boat in particular had an inoperably crushed ventilation hose and another had cracks in the refueling hose leading to the fuel tank. If you or someone you know owns a boat, call us and we'll make arrangements for you to receive a courtesy inspection. |

Thanks!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all our students for their loyal
support through the season(s) and encourage everyone to bring one new friend
along each year as you sail. As we grow and expand our operation, we want
to make our products and services available to all who may be interested, but
some one has to make the introduction. Share the love of your sport
with those who may be interested in our unique collection of programs. You'll be
glad you did and so will they!
