Radar Navigation (380)
The Radar course teaches safe, efficient use of small-craft radar for piloting, chart navigation, and collision avoidance, including radar principles and  practical matters of radar operation. A realistic PC based radar simulator is used in the course to illustrate radar measurements.

Our extensive curriculum consists of a sequence of two individual courses.

 
RAD_380_a 5 hr classroom “Radar Principles” class.  
RAD_380_b 5 hr classroom “Lab” hands-on instruction. (Optional)
     
Read the A.S.A. Radar Endorsement Standard
 
RADAR_380_a
This 5 hr program will cover radar technology, target traits, range of detection, gain and other adjustments, use of alarms, radar piloting and collision avoidance.  This course includes hands on use of radar simulation software.

Ground school - $325

RADAR_380_b
This 5 hr classroom radar simulation drills designed to provide the application and practice of the theory learned in the core Radar theory class. Many programs only "Discuss" the navigation tools. This class provides the opportunity to apply and practice your theory knowledge during an extensive classroom drills designed to stretch and solidify your understanding and skills.
